Elven Pendant in Sterling with Gold Detail

Elven Pendant in Sterling with Gold Detail

This lentil bead is made by preparing each face separately and impressing it with the texture I have handmade.
The letters are Tengwar - Elven runes.
Both sides are imprinted with the text taken from the Song of Beren and Luthien - an old Elven love song.
The bead was then fused into a whole, before adding the gold detail - A scattered pattern of spirals and swirls overlays the song and fuses delicately into the silver and makes the pendant look like an old heirloom I htink.
From the lentil bead hangs a little leaf shaped dangle with the same runes. It provides some extra movement and catches the light wonderfully.

I then oxidised the whole bead which makes the gold stand out beautifully and polished it to a high shine.
It has a solid feel to it - indeed with the gorgeous trace chain attached, there is 13 grams of silver here.
It is recycled silver - extracted from photographic films and liquids, so this is a truly ethical choice.

The chain has a lobster clasp and my makers mark and the necklace has been hallmarked from Sheffield Assay Office with all the standard British marks for Sterling silver.
The bead has a diameter of 26 mm (1 inch) and pendant with dangle is 38 mm long.
